### TotalEnergies Marks Milestone in Offshore Argentina: Starting Gas Production at Fenix Field
TotalEnergies has announced the successful start of gas production at the Fenix offshore gas field, located 60 kilometers off the coast of Tierra del Fuego in southern Argentina. This milestone achievement, which follows a final investment decision (FID) in 2022, underscores the company’s operational prowess and strategic focus on low-cost, low-emissions energy developments.
#### Project Overview
Fenix is part of the Cuenca Marina Austral 1 (CMA-1) concession, where TotalEnergies holds a 37.5% operated interest alongside Harbour Energy (37.5%) and Pan American Energy (25%). The development includes a newly constructed unmanned platform situated in 70 meters of water, connected to the existing CMA-1 infrastructure.
The Fenix project boasts a significant production capacity of 10 million cubic meters per day, which translates to approximately 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The gas produced from the field is transported via a 35-kilometer subsea pipeline to the TotalEnergies-operated Véga Pléyade platform. From there, it is processed at the Río Cullen and Cañadon Alfa facilities, also managed by TotalEnergies.
#### Sustainability and Operational Excellence
The Fenix development is designed with sustainability in mind. It features a carbon intensity of just 9 kg CO2e/barrel of oil equivalent, leveraging existing infrastructure to minimize emissions. This aligns perfectly with TotalEnergies’ strategy to execute low-cost and low-emissions projects while maintaining a reliable supply to the Argentinean gas market.
“Fenix is a testament to our ability to deliver projects safely and ahead of schedule,” stated Javier Rielo, Senior Vice President Americas, Exploration & Production at TotalEnergies. “Its contribution to our gas production plateau in Tierra del
