**BP to Supply Norwegian Crude Oil to ORLEN Refineries Raising Efficiency and Energy Security**

In a significant development for the oil and gas industry, BP Plc has entered into a 12-month contract to supply 6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of crude oil from its North Sea fields to ORLEN SA’s refineries in Poland and Lithuania. This agreement is expected to enhance ORLEN’s operational efficiency and contribute to increased energy security in both countries.

**Key Highlights of the Agreement**

1. **Supply Volume**: The deal involves the delivery of six million tonnes of crude oil annually. This supply will cover approximately 15% of ORLEN’s total feedstock requirements.

2. **Flexibility in Supply**: The agreement is structured to provide ORLEN with flexible supply options. Crude oil shipments will be directed to either the Polish port of Gdańsk or the Lithuanian port of Būtinga, depending on demand.

3. **First Delivery**: The first delivery under this 12-month contract is scheduled to arrive at the port of Gdańsk in September 2024.

4. **Oil Grades**: The crude oil supplied by BP will include various grades such as Forties and Brent from the UK, Oseberg, Johan Sverdrup, Troll, Grane, Brent, and Ekofisk from Norway. Additionally, ORLEN’s refineries also receive US-sourced West Texas Intermediate (WTI), Bakken, and Mars grades, as well as West African Forcados and Bonny Light crudes.

5. **Diversification Efforts**: This agreement is part of ORLEN’s ongoing efforts to diversify its feedstock portfolio. The company has previously reduced its reliance on Russian oil, completely halting the processing of Russian crudes by the end of 2023. This move is aimed at enhancing energy security in Poland and the wider Central and Eastern European region.
