**HOLBORN Europa Raffinerie GmbH Collaborates with Topsoe to Drive Renewable Energy in Germany**

HOLBORN Europa Raffinerie GmbH, a leading oil refinery in Hamburg, Germany, has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to sustainability by partnering with Topsoe to develop a state-of-the-art renewable fuels production complex. This initiative aligns with both HOLBORN’s long-term transformation strategy and the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), aiming to reduce emissions and increase the production of sustainable fuels like renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

### Key Highlights of the Project

– **Technology Deployment:** Topsoe will supply its proprietary HydroFlex technology to enable the processing of waste and residue feedstocks into SAF and renewable diesel. This technology is crucial for converting various organic fats, oils, and greases into drop-in renewable jet and diesel fuels that meet all global specifications.

– **Feedstock Utilization:** The new complex is designed to produce 220,000 tons per year of high-quality Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) or green diesel, and SAF using biomass-based waste and residue feedstocks sourced from the agribusiness sector. This approach not only enhances fuel diversity but also supports a circular economy by utilizing waste as a raw material.
