### Aker BP Achieves Significant Milestone with First Oil Production at Tyrving Field
**Offshore Drilling and Production Operations**
In a major achievement for the oil and gas industry, Aker BP has successfully commenced oil production from the Tyrving field located in the Alvheim area of the North Sea. This milestone crowns a significant investment in the field’s development, showcasing Aker BP’s commitment to sustainable and efficient operations.
**Strategic Alignment and Environmental Focus**
The Tyrving development is strategically aligned with Aker BP’s broader objectives of enhancing local production capacity and reducing the environmental impact of operations. By leveraging existing infrastructure, such as the Alvheim floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO), Aker BP has optimized both economic and environmental performance. The development includes three wells and two new subsea installations (manifolds) tied back to the East Kameleon infrastructure and further to the Alvheim FPSO, ensuring efficient oil offloading to shuttle tankers.
**Operational Highlights**
Aker BP holds a 61.3% stake in the Tyrving field, while Petoro AS and PGNiG Upstream Norway AS respectively hold 26.84% and 11.9% stakes. The recoverable resources in Tyrving are estimated at approximately 25 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe). Notably, the operational strategy aimed at reducing emissions has been successful, with Tyrving expected to operate with exceptionally low emissions of just 0.3 kilograms of CO₂ per barrel.
**Significance of the Achievement**
The start of oil production from Tyrving marks a pivotal moment in Aker BP’s strategy to extend the lifetime of the Alvheim field. By integrating new wells and subsea installations, Aker BP has increased production levels while minimizing both unit costs and CO₂ emissions per barrel. This approach underscores the company’s commitment to future growth and environmental responsibility, aligning with the evolving standards within
