Aker BP reaches first oil at Tyrving

**Aker BP Achieves Significant Milestone with First Oil Production at Tyrving Field**

On September 3, 2024, Aker BP announced a landmark achievement in the oil and gas industry with the start of oil production from the Tyrving field located in the Alvheim area offshore Norway. This milestone not only underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable and efficient oil production but also marks a crucial step in extending the lifetime of the Alvheim field.

**Strategic Alignment and Environmental Impact**

The Tyrving development is strategically aligned with Aker BP’s goals to enhance local production capacity and reduce environmental impact. By leveraging existing infrastructure, Aker BP has optimized both economic and environmental performance. Specifically, the Tyrving field development consists of three wells and two new subsea installations (manifolds) tied back to existing infrastructure at East Kameleon and further to the Alvheim Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) unit. This design allows for efficient oil offloading to shuttle tankers, minimizing logistical challenges and costs.

**Operational Highlights**

– **Production Start-up**: The start-up of oil production from Tyrving signifies a major accomplishment in Aker BP’s development timeline. Initially, production was expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, but accelerated project execution has advanced the timeline.

– **Recoverable Resources**: The Tyrving field is estimated to hold recoverable resources of approximately 25 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), reinforcing Aker BP’s focus on maximizing production within existing and new fields.

– **Operational Leadership**: Aker BP is the leading operator at Tyrving, holding a stake of 61.3%. Petoro AS and PGNiG Upstream Norway AS are the other partners, with stakes of 26.84% and 11.9%, respectively.

– **Environmental Performance**: One of the most notable aspects of the Tyrving development is its exceptionally low emissions profile. The field operates with an estimated
