### Aker BP Achieves Milestone in Tyrving Oil Field Development
Aker BP has successfully reached first oil production at its Tyrving oil field in the Alvheim area, offshore Norway. This significant achievement is not only a testament to the company’s operational prowess but also underscores its commitment to sustainable and efficient oil extraction methods.
**Background and Development**
Tyrving’s development leverages the planned extended lifetime for the Alvheim field, ensuring both increased production and reduced unit costs and CO2 emissions per barrel. The Tyrving development involves three new wells and two state-of-the-art subsea installations (manifolds) tied back to existing infrastructure at East Kameleon and further to the Alvheim FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) unit.
Recoverable resources in the Tyrving field are estimated at approximately 25 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), which translates to 15 MMboe net for Aker BP. The company aims to maintain low emissions, with an estimated 0.3 kg of CO2 per barrel, aligning with its environmental goals.
**Operational Updates and Partnerships**
Aker BP operates at Tyrving with a significant stake of 61.3%, alongside major partners Petoro AS (26.84%) and PGNiG Upstream Norway AS (11.9%). This collaborative approach ensures that the development is thoroughly managed and executed with a focus on operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The company has also received approval for the development and operation (PDO) of Tyrving from the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, which was granted in 2023. Originally, production was anticipated to start in the first quarter of 2025; however, Aker BP successfully accelerated this timeline, with the first oil reaching the market ahead of schedule.
**Exploration and Drilling Campaign**
An exploration pilot well was drilled in the Trell North reservoir in the first quarter of 2024. This drilling efforts confirmed the volume
