bpTT, EOG to develop offshore Trinidad gas resource

**Trinidad and Tobago Poised for Offshore Gas Expansion with bpTT and EOG Partnership**

Trinidad and Tobago is set to boost its offshore natural gas production with a significant partnership between bp Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) and EOG Resources Trinidad. The two companies have joined forces to develop the Coconut offshore gas field, marking a crucial step in enhancing the island nation’s energy output.

**Key Points of the Partnership**

1. **Location and Structure**: The Coconut gas field is located in the Columbus Basin, approximately 260 feet below sea level. This development aligns with bpTT’s extensive operations in offshore Trinidad, where the company manages approximately 680,000 acres along the east coast and operates 16 offshore platforms.

2. **Joint Venture Details**: Coconut will be a 50/50 joint venture with EOG as the operator. The final investment decision has been made by the joint venture partners, paving the way for first gas production in 2027.

3. **Previous Projects**: This latest collaboration is part of a series of successful developments between bpTT and EOG. Previous projects include the EMZ (2011), Sercan (2016), Banyan (2017), and Mento (expected to come online in 2025).

4. **Gas Production Potential**: The Coconut field is expected to significantly contribute to Trinidad and Tobago’s gas production. This project is poised to accelerate gas growth while allowing for further development of other gas opportunities, such as the Ginger field.

5. **Industry Insights**: David Campbell, president of bpTT, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “This collaboration will enable us to accelerate production from the Coconut field, while giving us the space to progress our Ginger field development and other gas growth opportunities at a faster pace. We are accelerating gas growth while remaining focused on returns to achieve a higher value Trinidad business— one with clear line of sight to material high-margin growth over the next several years
