**Brazos Midstream: Leading the Charge in Permian Gas Processing and Gathering Infrastructure**
In a significant move to enhance its operations in the heart of the Permian Basin, Brazos Midstream has achieved a major milestone with the completion of its new 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) cryogenic gas processing plant, designated as the Sundance I facility, in Martin County, Texas. The plant is set to commence operations in October 2024, marking a crucial step in the company’s strategy to bolster its infrastructure in the Midland Basin.
This latest development is part of Brazos Midstream’s broader expansion plans, which include the construction of approximately 175 miles of high-pressure gas-gathering pipelines ranging from 16 to 24 inches in diameter. These pipelines are being built across the core of the Midland Basin, covering counties such as Ector, Howard, Martin, Midland, Glasscock, and Reagan. This extensive network will add to Brazos Midstream’s existing gathering system, eventually equipping the company with about 260 miles of gas-gathering pipelines and ten compressor stations in the Midland basin system.
Brazos Midstream is also poised to significantly increase its processing capacity in the region. The company has announced plans to construct a second cryogenic gas plant with a capacity of 300 MMcf/d, targeted for start-up by the end of 2025. This new facility will boost Brazos Midstream’s overall processing capability in the Midland Basin to 500 MMcf/d, aimed at accommodating the forecasted growth in production from its upstream producer customers.
Established in 2014, Brazos Midstream has been actively expanding its operations since acquiring its initial Martin County gas-gathering infrastructure in 2021. The construction of the Sundance I plant and associated midstream infrastructure began in 2023, reflecting the company’s commitment to enhancing its asset base in support of growing natural gas production in the Permian Basin.
