**Brazos Midstream Expands Gas Processing and Gathering Infrastructure in the Permian Basin**
Brazos Midstream, a leading player in the Permian Basin’s midstream sector, has made significant strides in advancing its gas processing and gathering capabilities. The company recently announced the completion of a new grassroots natural gas processing plant, the Sundance I cryogenic facility, located in Martin County, Texas. This milestone plant boasts a processing capacity of 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) and is set to commence commercial operations in October 2024.
The latest infrastructure expansion is part of Brazos Midstream’s broader strategy to enhance its midstream footprint in the Permian’s Midland basin. The company is also nearing completion of approximately 175 miles of high-pressure gas-gathering pipeline and associated midstream infrastructure spanning across Ector, Howard, Martin, Midland, Glasscock, and Reagan counties.
Once fully operational, Brazos will manage about 418 kilometers of natural gas-gathering pipelines and ten compressor stations in these counties. This extensive network is designed to accommodate the anticipated growth in production from upstream operators, ensuring a robust and reliable gas gathering system.
To support this growing demand, Brazos Midstream has planned a second cryogenic gas processing facility with a capacity of 300 MMcf/d. This new facility, scheduled for startup by the end of 2025, will increase the company’s total processing capability to 500 MMcf/d. This significant expansion is aimed at bolstering Brazos Midstream’s position as the largest privately held midstream platform in the Permian Basin, addressing the pressing need for additional processing capacity.
