Tamboran begins Beetaloo sub-basin drilling campaign

**Tamboran and Falcon Oil Mark a New Era in Beetaloo Sub-Basin Drilling**

In a significant strategic move, Tamboran B2 Pty. Ltd. and its joint venture partner Falcon Oil & Gas Ltd. have initiated a comprehensive drilling campaign in the Beetaloo Sub-Basin, Northern Territory, Australia. This ambitious project, highlighted in recent announcements, underscores the companies’ commitment to unlocking the potential of this underexplored onshore basin.

The drilling program kicked off with the spudding of the Shenandoah South 2H (SS2H) horizontal well under exploration permit 98. Following the successful completion of this well, Tamboran will immediately shift its focus to drilling the Shenandoah South 3H (SS3H) well off the same well pad. Both wells will be drilled using Helmerich & Payne’s (H&P) super-spec FlexRig, a state-of-the-art drilling apparatus capable of achieving remarkable efficiency and precision.

The targeted horizontal sections of approximately 3,000 meters will be directed at the Amungee Member B-shale, with an estimated target depth of 3,020 meters. Each well is expected to be drilled over a period of about 30 days, marking a significant milestone in the project’s timeline.

The utilization of Liberty Energy’s frac fleet from the United States is a crucial aspect of this drilling campaign. The Liberty frac fleet is renowned for its advanced stimulation techniques, which will enable the completion of up to 60 stages per well. This enhanced stimulation intensity is expected to significantly boost the efficiency of gas flows, setting the stage for substantial natural gas production.

The ultimate goal of this drilling campaign is to support the proposed Shenandoah South Pilot Project, which aims to produce 40 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Initial flow tests for both wells are anticipated to occur early in 2025, after which the wells will be suspended as future producers. The project is expected to commence production
