**Tamboran’s New Drilling Campaign in the Beetaloo Sub-Basin**
Tamboran (B2) Pty. Ltd., in a significant move to explore the substantial gas reserves of the Beetaloo Sub-Basin, has initiated a major drilling campaign. The company spudded the Shenandoah South 2H (SS2H) horizontal well under exploration permit 98, a development that marks the beginning of a series of extensive drilling operations in the region. According to joint venture partner Falcon Oil & Gas Ltd., the drilling of SS2H has commenced in the Northern Territory of Australia.
**Drilling Plans and Objectives**
Both the SS2H and SS3H wells will be drilled using an H&P rig, targeting the Amungee Member B-shale formation. The horizontal sections of these wells will extend approximately 3,000 meters, with a total target depth of 3,020 meters. This campaign aims to reach significant reservoir potential within the Beetaloo Sub-Basin, which spans over 8.7 million acres.
**Enhanced Stimulation Techniques**
To maximize the efficiency and productivity of the drilling operation, Tamboran has partnered with Liberty Energy to mobilize their frac fleet from the United States. The Liberty equipment is renowned for its ability to complete multiple stages in a single day, thereby enhancing overall stimulation intensity and potentially increasing gas flows. The usage of this advanced technology is anticipated to set a new benchmark in horizontal drilling operations in the Beetaloo Sub-Basin.
**Future Production and Flow Testing**
Following the completion of drilling and stimulation processes, initial flow test results are expected in early 2025. Once successfully tested, both wells will be suspended as future producers, providing gas supply for the Shenandoah South Pilot Project. This project, targeting 40 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, is expected to commence production in mid-2026, subject to regulatory approvals
