In a significant move to meet the rising demand for natural gas processing in the Permian region, Brazos Midstream has completed the construction of a new, grassroots cryogenic gas processing plant in Martin County, Texas. This major development is part of the company’s broader strategy to enhance its operational footprint and capitalize on anticipated production growth in the Midland Basin.
**Sundance I Plant Nears Commercial Operation**
The 200-MMcfd Sundance I cryogenic gas processing plant has reached mechanical completion, paving the way for its scheduled start of commercial service in October 2024. This plant represents a key addition to Brazos Midstream’s portfolio, significantly boosting the company’s processing capacity in the Permian.
**Gathering Infrastructure Expansion**
Concurrently, Brazos Midstream is nearing completion of approximately 175 miles of 16-24 inch high-pressure gas-gathering pipeline and associated midstream infrastructure. This expansion spans key counties within the Midland Basin, including Ector, Howard, Martin, Midland, Glasscock, and Reagan. Once fully operational, the gathering system will expand to about 260 miles and include 10 compressor stations, thereby enhancing the company’s operational efficiency and support for upstream producers.
**Second Plant Underway**
To further meet the projected production growth, Brazos Midstream has announced plans to construct an additional cryogenic gas plant with a processing capacity of 300 MMcfd.
