Seabed Frame & SBF Clamp for an Offshore Project in Malaysia

Delivering Seabed Frame & Clamp Equipment for an Offshore Geotechnical Survey Project

In offshore and geotechnical survey work, equipment reliability and on-time delivery are critical to keeping a survey vessel’s operating schedule on track. OTS Offshore was recently trusted by an international offshore survey company to design, fabricate, and deliver critical subsea deployment equipment for a geotechnical/seabed survey project — delivered directly to the customer’s survey vessel via Singapore Port.

Project Scope

The scope of supply for this project included:

  • SBF Clamp (25 tons) — a heavy-duty clamp designed to secure and handle the Seabed Frame during deployment and recovery
  • Seabed Frame (SBF), 15 tons — a robust seabed support frame used to stabilize survey and sampling equipment on the seabed

Transport & Logistics (CFR Singapore Port) — door-to-port delivery from the OTS Offshore workshop to Singapore Port, ready for handover to the customer’s survey vessel

How OTS Offshore Delivered the Project

Design & Fabrication

Both the SBF Clamp and Seabed Frame were fabricated in-house at the OTS Offshore workshop, built to the exact specifications and quotation agreed with the customer. Production followed OTS’s standard QA/QC process to ensure the equipment could withstand the loads involved in transport and offshore deployment.

Quality Control & Inspection

Before leaving the workshop, each unit underwent dimensional inspection, load-capacity verification, and visual inspection to confirm it met both the customer’s requirements and international fabrication standards.

Logistics & Delivery

To meet the customer’s project schedule, OTS Offshore coordinated complete door-to-port logistics, moving the finished equipment from the workshop to Singapore Port under CFR terms — ready for direct handover to the survey vessel.
